Event Details
The Saskatchewan Youth Internship Program (SYIP) is a project that the SIEC and RDIEC are pleased to deliver to the youth of our schools since 2003. This program provides youth with summer employment and a look at specific careers at the same time. In the past 5 years, over 550 youth have participated in the SYIP, with a 98% completion rate.
Program Overview:
- Dates: July 7 – August 15, 2025 (alternate dates available)
- Industries: Construction and manufacturing
- Eligibility: Grade 11–12 students (Grade 10 with demonstrated maturity)

- Hire motivated youth eager to explore careers in your field
- Help develop Saskatchewan’s future skilled workforce
- Opportunity to retain Grade 12 students for full-time roles after graduation
Program Features:
- Employers interview 3–5 candidates and select the best fit
- Students receive safety training (e.g., WHMIS, Fall Protection, Food Safe) at no cost to employer
- Support from SIEC/RDIEC job coaches and program coordinator
