SaskPower and the Saskatchewan Industrial and Mining Suppliers Association (SIMSA) are proud to announce an event focused on advancing women’s leadership in the supply chain, on December 10th, 10:00-11:30am. It will have participation from each crown corporation and other government ministries.  


The event is sponsored by Graham Construction.


To begin the dialogue, Camille Geiger – Global Supply Chain Diversity Leader, Boeing (California) – will present on what Boeing has seen work and not work in their supply chains - on their diversity and inclusion experiences, in particular as it relates to supplier diversity. It should be noted that these USA based companies have been working in this sphere for decades and to do business with their federal government, it is a regulation. She will discuss Boeing’s journey, metrics, best practices, avoiding hurting one group while trying to help another, focused spends, and other issues. Camille oversees this portfolio for Boeing’s aircraft manufacturing, defence, Johnson Space Centre, and aircraft parts divisions.


SaskPower is committed to sustainability and making progress with diversity in the supply Chain.  SaskPower wants to ensure transparent and equal opportunities for suppliers to succeed.  One aspect of their diversity goal is the inclusion of women-led businesses. Their Procurement team is building networks to understand and expand the potential of women-led businesses.  By expanding these opportunities, SaskPower helps in the growth of jobs and adding new perspectives to business.  They are is inviting partners to join them in a collaboration to evolve diversity and create a stronger and more sustainable supply chain.
